The sport administration program at the University of Cincinnati offers undergraduate and graduate degree options for students aspiring for a career in the sport industry. The university is situated in a thriving sports metropolis, just minutes from downtown Cincinnati, creating an ideal opportunity for students to gain invaluable sport industry experience. In the classroom, our faculty strive to seamlessly blend theory with real-world application, leveraging local industry partnerships for guest speakers, hands-on class projects, internship and volunteer experiences, and research collaborations.

University of Cincinnati sport administration students have interned within all segments of the sport industry. Prior internship sites include: Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, FC Cincinnati, US Bank Arena, Western Southern Tennis Open, Cincinnati Cyclones, University of Cincinnati Athletics, Columbus Crew, Flying Pig Marathon, YMCA, University of Cincinnati Campus Recreation, UCATS, University of Kentucky Athletics, United States Paralympics, Australian Baseball League, Saint Xavier High School Athletics, Clark Montessori Athletics, IMG College, Delaware North, National Association of Sport Commissions, KMG Sports Management, and Kentucky Motor Speedway.

Aside from the many sport industry partners in and around the Cincinnati area, the sport administration program at the University of Cincinnati differentiates itself from other programs in the region in a number of ways. First and foremost, our curriculum is on the cutting edge of sport industry trends. We offer courses in sales, development, and analytics, in an effort to provide student with the knowledge and tangible skills to succeed in the business-oriented culture of professional, collegiate, and interscholastic sport. We also recognize success in the sport industry is about more than generating revenue. We are educating the next wave of industry leaders. To that end, we offer courses in diversity, ethics, and leadership to prepare students for careers in a team-oriented, diverse environment.

As important as it is to acquire knowledge in the classroom, it is equally as important to apply that knowledge in a real-world setting. Our program requires students to work in the sport industry from their freshman year, on through graduation, so as to best position themselves for a job in the sport industry upon graduation. We also have a unique partnership with the Linder College of Business at the University of Cincinnati, whereby sport administration students are required to take four business classes as part of their undergraduate curriculum.

At the graduate level, we specialize in intercollegiate and interscholastic athletic administration. Our faculty draws on more than 40 years of combined industry experience to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed as an athletic administrator. Through a unique partnership with the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), students seeking a career in high school athletics are able to complete the Certified Athletic Administrator certificate program in conjunction with their coursework. Full-time students can complete the master’s degree program in a single calendar year. The Master's of Science in Sport Administration program is 100% online.
