The focus of the degree includes:
· Sport business
· Sport sales
· Communication skills
· Teamwork skills
· Leadership abilities
The student will graduate from the program with the ability to conduct specific research and report writing for their sport organization. Additionally, students develop a strong understanding of management, marketing and finance as it pertains to the sport industry. A major component of the program is group projects and presentations, allowing the student to tackle any problem and any audience, while enhancing their teamwork skills.
A unique aspect of the program, which sets it apart from other programs, is our strong relationship with the College of Business – one of the best in the country. The College of Business has supported our program since its inception by including our students in MBA courses. Students typically take courses in accountancy, finance, marketing, management, and operations management and information systems. An equally unique and distinctive aspect of our program is the availability of numerous quality internship opportunities. Given our proximity to the city of Chicago along with being centrally located in the Midwest, internship opportunities for our students are seemingly endless.
