Ryan Hummel (VP of Facilities Operations, Philadelphia Eagles), BS '2004'

The professors in the ESU Sport Management program were always there to provide me with the knowledge, essential tools, and life skills necessary to enter the world of professional sports.

Marquise Watson (Manager, Brand Partnership and Client Solutions, The Springhill Company), BS '2014

The Sport Management program at ESU helped me excel in the sports industry by providing me with access to unique learning opportunities, adequate information to maneuver within the field, and wonderful representation from past alumni that never hesitate to lend a helping hand.

Derek Garman (Senior Allocation Analyst, Under Armour)

The program and professors opened up my eyes to the many opportunities within the field. I came into the program very narrow minded on what I wanted to do after college, but through my time at ESU I learned of the many other areas I would be interested in. The professors helped create a sense of professionalism that has helped me advance in my career and get to where I am today. Also it has allowed me to create a network with my classmates who have similar aspirations as I do.

Sara Steinman (Director of Wellness, Athletics & Recreation, Delaware County Community College)

When I entered my master’s program in Sport Management at ESU, I had the intention to continue to move my career forward as a college basketball coach. However, my SMGT coursework along with opportunities I had during this time in my career, opened my eyes to a whole other world of athletic administration. I knew I wanted to continue my career in higher education but my passions began to shift toward administration because of what I was learning while I was at ESU. My grad school experience laid the foundation for me to successfully transition and pursue a career in college athletic administration.

Caitlin Nicholls (Director of Operations and Events, Bucknell University Athletic Dept.), BS '2021, MS '2022

The ESU SMGT department has helped prepare me for the sport industry with access to an early internship. Being able to apply for an internship after my first year of college pushing me out of my comfort zone by creating a resume and participating in in-person interviews. While completing an early internship, I was also able to receive college credit while gaining real world experience.
