The M.S. Sport Administration program is a a 36-credit hour ONLINE program that serves today’s working professional or full-time student. Courses are offered in an accelerated 7-week format. Graduate in as few as 12 months.

The Sport Administration program is a Master of Science degree in the Department of Health, Physical Education & Sport Sciences at Arkansas State University. It is designed as a 36-credit hour online program that can serve today’s working professional. The 100% online program serves graduate students interested in administrative opportunities in professional sports, intercollegiate and interscholastic athletics, public event facilities, media, and sports marketing and management agencies.

The goal of this program is to balance theory and best, current practices in order to successfully prepare each graduate for sport administration employment. Each student will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the management, leadership, socio-cultural, ethical and legal applications in the administrative capacities within amateur and professional sports environments.

The Sport Administration program will prepare students to receive an advanced degree that adds to the the knowledge and skills required for successful careers. As an applied field, it is essential that students incorporate knowledge learned throughout the academic program, their own work experience, diverse socio-cultural backgrounds to class activities. Collaborative interaction using Blackboard software programming allows full engagement of classroom activities online. The latest research and theory behind sport administrative strategies and practices are discussed in each course.

 

Students will be immersed in a required core of 10 courses, including a culminating capstone internship experience (6 credits) in a sport-related environment.

M.S., Sport Administration - Online

120 credits 45 credits- Sport Management major Internship required
